River house sits on the banks of the Nambucca river as a contemporary addition to the street and riverscape, familiar in its materiality yet also slightly alien in its form. The asymmetrical scissor trusses provide volume over the open plan first floor living room, delineating the spaces within.
The upper floor provides single level living with guest accommodation in the set-back ground floor level. The living room enjoys a northern aspect, with long views down the river towards the historic steel trussed Macksville Bridge. A secluded rear terrace with enviable views of the local cricket fields provides a cool retreat for hot summer afternoons.
