This traditional farmstead has been remodelled to respond to its enviable position within the rural Byron hinterland landscape. The original four-room cottage has been transformed into a large north facing living and dining space with expansive landscape views and ample daylight. This living space acts as the hub of the house with access to the media room, kitchen, bedrooms and new indoor / outdoor living space which connects to the breakfast terrace, pool and courtyard.
The uncovered courtyard space encourages winter and evening outdoor living with barbecue, dining area and in-situ cast concrete fireplace. Basalt from the property has been used to create retaining walls that double as garden beds and a herb garden. The bespoke outdoor furniture was hand made on site from reclaimed timbers from a recently dismantled local rail bridge.
