Designed as a one-bedroom retreat, She Oak is positioned on the edge of the landscape above the river plain. The house references the landscape throughout, starting with the glazed entry pod on axis with Rimmons Hill on the other side of the valley. The glazed corners of each pavilion bring long views of the Huon valley and peaks of the South West National Park into the house. The interior palette of dark timber, black concrete and bronze create a sense of enclosure and warmth in contrast to the expansive landscape views.
